Edward Brooks

May 7, 1943 - February 10, 2022

Edward was born May 7, 1943, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, to Arthur Brooks Sr. and Lydia Spruell Brooks. He was the fifth child born into the family. Edward graduated from Amanda Elzy High School in Greenville, Mississippi. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 8 years. After serving in the Air Force, Edward joined the Denver Police Department where he served until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Mildred Frazier on July 29, 1968. They were married for 53 years and raised two beautiful daughters, Senta Marie and Crystal Lynn. One of Edward’s greatest joys in life was spoiling his three grandchildren: David Allen Brooks, Jaymes Edward Dickinson and Ericka Marie Dickinson. In his spare time, Edward enjoyed listening to music, reading, bowling, playing golf and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing tricks on his loved ones. Edward accepted Christ at an early age. He loved God and he willingly shared his faith with others he encountered. He was a faithful, loyal and supportive friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr and Lydia Brooks; sisters, Lesteen Jennings and Murleen Brooks; brothers, Arthur Brooks Jr, Charlie Brooks, Clarence Brooks and Jimmy Brooks. Edward departed this life on February 10, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Mildred of Thornton, CO; his two daughters Senta (Shannon) Moore of Lees Summit, MO and Crystal Brooks of Thornton, CO; three grandchildren David Brooks of Thornton, CO, Jaymes Dickinson and Ericka Dickinson of Lees Summit, MO; three sisters, Thelma Brooks and Mildred Ann Brooks of Chicago, IL and Dorothy Brooks of Las Vegas, NV; 6 sisters in-law; 6 brothers in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
